My first eye exam with Dr. Driscoll was like none I have had in Roanoke or Salem. She goes the extra mile and she listens. I am very happy I am in her care now. Filling out redundant forms - with SSN. Hopefully they shred those papers if you actually provided them with your SSN. Average appointment time for me is usually two hours from check in to leaving the premises. Having to pick up your eyeglass Rx from the embedded optometrist is also inconvenient. I am relatively young, at least in needing cataract surgery. The staf was professional and caring, answering my questions about the whole process. I chose the laser option and went with monovision lenses, one eye for distance, and one eye for reading. The change in my everyday life is amazing. I had difficulty reading, even with strong reading glasses before surgery. But, thanks to Dr Eng and his staff, I can see very well, and do things I wasn’t able to previously. My wife suffered a very painful cut across her eyeball. We were very blessed that Dr. Bradley was on call, as it was a Saturday. We called the number, he answered, and he was at the clinic before us. He took a look at my wife’s eye, reassured her during a time of great stress, talked her through the whole procedure, and I was completely amazed. His treatment resulted in immediate relief and complete healing. He even helped us reduce our prescription costs as much as possible that Saturday and had us come in the next day (a Sunday) to check her eye once again. I called the EC&S office in the mid afternoon close to their closing time, explained my symptoms and they got me in right away (this was my second opthalmalogist call as the first doc office I called couldn’t fit me in, but they did say it was important that I be seen by perhaps my optometrist or general practitioner). It turned out that I had a PVD tear, and had I not gotten the treatment protocol that day from Dr. Schaubach then I may have continued doing my usual strenuous lifestyle the next day and further excelled the issue to a more emergent state.
