Eyelid & Oculoplastic Surgery
Oculoplastic surgery is a special section of ophthalmology which involves the eyelids, lacrimal (tear) system, the orbit (bony cavity surrounding the eye) and the skin around the eyes and brows. The proper function and position of the eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal system all play an important role to the health and comfort of your eye and vision.
Common Eyelid Procedures:
Common eyelid procedures include blepharoplasties (removal of excess eyelid skin), ptosis repair (lifting of a droopy eyelid), and removal of various tumors (benign or malignant), on or around the eyelid. Common lacrimal surgeries include procedures that may correct excessive tearing or dryness (please read our Dry Eye Section) and infections of the tear sac. In addition, the doctors at Eye Care & Surgery perform Botox injections for wrinkles and twinges such as blepharospasm (involuntary spasm of the eyelid)
The surgeons at Eye Care and Surgery perform many common oculoplastic procedures involving the eyelids, eyebrows, orbit, and lacrimal system. If you have any concerns about your skin around your eyes, eyelid, eyebrows, or tear drainage system, please let us know so we can help you find a resolution to your problem.
